| Superintendent, Accounting & Administration Superintendent, Accounting & Administration Due to continued growth achieved through sound fiscal management and the ongoing implementation of a visionary expansion plan, our high profile mining client is looking to add a new dimension, a leader, to a highly skilled cross functional team of professionals. As a designated Accountant with previous experience of building systems, processes and applying business acumen to pitfalls and challenges affecting high growth operations, you will report to the General Operations Manager and will be responsible for all financial and planning aspects associated with the operations of our clients northern region business operations and other developing entities. As the successful candidate you will be a key member of the management team with the ability to demonstrate a strong level of leadership through your accomplishments to date and will be required to take a developmental role in creating new business systems and processes including the vendor selection and implementation of Information Technology systems that will take the company into the future. The successful candidate will be a key member of the management team and will be expected to support the operational needs of the Corporation by working as a team member in the development and ongoing operation of the Company’s mineral properties. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Management Planning and Reporting: •Long-term strategic planning for established Mine and other developing areas within huge tract of properties. •Annual budget preparation and analysis. •Capital investment review and analysis - AFE review and sign-off prior to VP, Operations. •Operating cost review: develop/implement standard reporting requirements, review and analysis. •Continually monitor and analyze expenditures, incorporating an assessment of performance to budget and/or established standards. •Provide on-site financial and production reporting as required, including: daily operations report, weekly expenditure reports, monthly Operations Report, Capital Expenditure Report, production and development statistical reports, overtime reports, budget variance reports. •Perform required analysis, and provide support for department heads for the preparation of the annual budget. •Compile and consolidate departmental budget submissions. •Prepare budget documentation detailing all relevant factors contained within the budget. •Provide support for preparation of departmental cost/performance monthly reviews. Financial Accounting: •Review financial presentation of operating statements for considerations of generally accepted accounting principles. •Review financial presentation of operating statements for considerations of Corporate policies and directives of the Chief Financial Officer. •Ensure policies and procedures are in place and maintained in line with Corporate objectives. •Ensure that the sites comply with all federal and territorial reporting requirements. •Timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting. •Responsible for property tax submissions, royalty tax submissions, site property insurance and liability. •Preparation of royalty tax submissions. •Preparation property insurance working papers. •Chart of accounts definition - overall design and rules. •Primary responsibility for all requirements of external financial audits. •Review of monthly site bank reconciliations. •Ensure the processing of general ledger transactions is completed with respect to timeliness and accuracy. •Ensure the completion of month-end procedures and reporting requirements to the corporate office. •Perform periodic reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as required. •Ensure completion of working papers as required for external auditors. •Coordinate external reporting requirements, (i.e. Stats. Canada). Information Systems: •Select and develop systems to improve operations control and reporting efficiency. •To ensure that the effective implementation and maintenance of information systems. •To ensure adequate measures are implemented to safe guard the data contained within the information systems with respect with hardware failure, security access and internal control procedures. Payroll: •In conjunction with the Payroll Supervisor, ensure the processing of payroll transactions are completed with respect to timeliness, accuracy and legal report requirements. Accounts Payable: •Review and approve payment processing, including signatory functions on active Exploration bank accounts. •Review and approve cash requests to the corporate office. Purchasing, Inventory/Warehouse: •Supervise purchasing and inventory/warehouse functions to ensure the flow and availability of goods and services to the site. •Ensure that appropriate accounting and systems in place for control of goods and services. Human Resources: •Supervise the human resources function by integrating recruitment, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, employee and industrial relations.
